Sitting somewhere between a liquid and a solid, budder is a cannabis concentrate that is creamy or buttery in texture. Usually extracted using a solvent such as butane or CO2 in a closed loop system. Essentially, the cannabis bud is doused in the liquid solvents, and then the solvent is purged away by heat and pressure leaving behind the cannabis extract. Budder has a desirable and easy to work with consistency. It is easier to scoop than crumble and more solid than sap, and is more forgiving than shatter. Essentially, like crumble or sap, Budder is a subcategory of wax. Different solvents, strains and technical variations in the extract process, as well as atmospheric pressure and temperature dictate what consistency the final product can be. A runnier substance might be classified as sap, or a dryer one crumble. Budder tend to fall somewhere in between the two with regards to consistency. Budder is best enjoyed through a dab rig, but you could also use a portable wax vaporizer such as a Yocan Magneto to take dabs of it on the go, or some of the more Ents may choose to pack it with some herb into a bowl or bong, or even roll it into a joint and smoke it.
